About me

Hi, I’m Vandan — a developer and design-minded problem solver based in Auckland, New Zealand.

I enjoy building tools that make life easier, smarter, and a little more beautiful. From crafting clean, responsive UIs to writing backend logic that just works, I focus on delivering thoughtful digital experiences. I care about the small stuff — the way a button animates, the way a database query scales, the way users feel when they just get it. I’m not chasing perfection, just trying to make things that respect people’s time.

Outside of code, I run a Linux-focused YouTube channel with over half a million views, mentor aspiring developers, and lead technical workshops at university. I believe good software isn’t just about what it does—it’s about how it feels to use.

If something needs to be intuitive, efficient, and just a bit better than expected—I’m all in.

    My Homelab

Started with a dusty laptop from my teens, now it's a fully DIY media server, storage hub, and remote-controlled LED light show. Born from my love for Linux, it's still growing—I'm now using it as a playground for pentesting, exploit research, and self-hosted experimentation.

    Spice Map

A digital fix for a very real Asian kitchen problem. In a sea of identical spice jars with red lids, finding the right one is a hassle. This system maps each container’s location in the cupboard, with a mobile interface to search and instantly know where to look. Organization meets tradition.

    Degree Planner

Born from my own frustration with clunky university systems. I’m building a cleaner, smarter way to plan your degree—one that’s intuitive and flexible. Currently exploring algorithms like topological sorting to auto-suggest valid subject paths.

    RePairless

After constantly having to forget and re-pair my AirPods when switching between Windows and Linux, I started wondering: why can't Bluetooth just work across both? This concept explores syncing Bluetooth pairing data across OSes to make dual-booting feel less like a compromise and more like a fluid experience.
